The Chamber is offering a three-tier calendar of events, made of an educational series, a speakers series and annual events. The Chamber’s event calendar for 2011 is complemented with learning opportunities and opportunistic partnerships provided by or in partnership with third parties.
Find below a description of the different events on offer.
1) Education Series
- Description: A 30 minute local expert presentation on a specific topic followed by a networking session.
- Purpose: to provide members with a short and timely educational opportunity on matters of importance for the day to day running of small businesses.
- Requirement: The topic is to be relevant to the business calendar,; the local context; a small business audience; and to members. The presenter is to be regarded by his/her peers as a local expert; is to be engaging; and provide a professional presentation. Some audio visual requirements can be accommodated.
- Time: every third Tuesday of the month, from 5.30pm to 7pm; February to September (eight sessions).
- Location: Rydges Hotel, unless stated otherwise.
2) Speakers Series
- Description: A presentation at a sit down breakfast or luncheon event, by a guest speaker of excellent calibre.
- Purpose: to provide members and non-members with a quality speaker presentation on wider topics affecting a broader business base.
- Requirement: The guest speaker is to come highly recommended; to be recognised as a national or international expert by a wide audience; and with experience as a notable key note speaker.
- Time: Four to six time a year, at a date and time to be arranged with the speaker. February and March have a Speaker Series event.
- Location: varies
3) Annual Events
- Description: Two Chamber signature events - the Young Chamber Achievement Awards, a gala evening; and the Chamber’s Golf Day, a day of Ambrose golf.
- Purpose: to provide members and non-members with two social events.
- Requirement: vary according to sponsorship agreements.
- Time: Young Chamber Annual Awards is in June; and the Chamber’s Golf Day is in August.
- Location: varies
4) Opportunistic Partnerships
- Description: Variety of events for members and non-members conducted by the Chamber in partnership with third parties.
- Purpose: to partner with third parties in delivering a networking or speaker’s event.
- Requirement: Varies according to partnership
- Time: opportunistic
5) Learning Opportunities
- Description: Third parties learning opportunities promoted by the Chamber
- Purpose: to inform members of third parties learning opportunities
- Requirement: all learning opportunities are coordinated by third parties.
- Time: varies
