Townsville Chamber of Commerce membership links you into an expansive local and regional business network.

The members of the Townsville Chamber are committed to making business connections. Like you, they understand the benefits of networking, sharing information and insights, and promoting their businesses to potential customers.

As a volunteer based organisation, Chamber membership remains affordable. The Chamber executive is a committed and experienced group of local business people who are passionate about attracting new members, supporting current ones, and growing our region’s business sector.

Active membership of the Chamber can inform, educate, and motivate.

Business Education and Networking Events

Throughout the year, the Chamber presents a range of great events and business education opportunities for members.

These include formal breakfasts or luncheons featuring speakers of high calibre, at discounted rates for members. The Educational Speaker Series provides valuable tips and advice on improving business capacity, as well as networking opportunities in a relaxed after-hours setting. The Chamber also hosts two annual signature events, the Young Chamber Business Awards in June and the Golf Day in August. RSVP and payment for membership and events is processed quickly and securely via the Chambers on-line payment system.

Chamber members also enjoy the benefits of a secure area for members where you have exclusive access to locally relevant economic and business reports and case studies. You can also post comments or talk to other members as part of our Members’ Forum page.

Business Promotion

The Chamber presents promotional opportunities to its members, on its website, through our e- promotion service, or as a valued sponsor.

Further, we offer members special opportunities to create business links in areas outside Townsville. In 2010 the Chamber led a trade mission to Papua New Guinea, which resulted in a six members securing new business in PNG.

Employees of member organisations under the age of 35 can also attend Young Chamber networking events free of charge – helping them develop their own professional connections.

Business Advocacy

As a local business, your success depends on the success of the entire business community. For 128 years the Townsville Chamber has successfully lobbied local, state and federal governments to improve conditions and opportunities for business and industry in our city and region.

Your membership supports the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to ensure the best conditions for business development. This includes an Advocacy Service for members who need help dealing with an issue that may be impacting on their business.

Finally, membership provides you with a voting right at the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in October each year. In time, you may be interested in becoming a member of the Chamber Executive team and adding your knowledge and experience to one of Australia’s largest regional Chamber.
