Townsville Future and NQ Regionalisation

The Queensland Government, Department of Local Government, has recently released its draft documents

 Townsville Futures Plan- A second capital for Queensland, a plan to establish Townsville as a regional centre of significance; and

Queensland Regionalisation Strategy, a state wide plan which sets out potential strategies for driving regional investment and development.

The consultation period for both Plans and Strategey ended 9 September 2011. Find the Chamber's representation sent to the Department of Local Government and Planning regarding Townsville Futures Plan and the Regionalisation Strategy.Find a related Chamber media release.

 

Townsville Land Use Proposal

The Townsville Land Use Proposal has been developed to assist the communtiy in understanding the implications of the proposed policies for the City Plan. The Land Use Proposal is one of the first stages in what will become The City Plan.  Find The Overview . Refer to Council's webpage for copies of The Strategies as well as copies of the major strategic studies which have provided a primary basis for the development of the Townsville Land Use Proposal.

The Chamber is hosting an information session on the Proposal, with planners of Council City Plan Unit on hand to answer queries and receive feedback. All are welcome.
