Award Categories

Young Businessperson Award – celebrating the contribution of our young businesspersons or entrepreneuers

North Queensland has a rich pool of young entrepreneurs who deserve our praise. This Award is for young entrepreneurs and young businesspersons, 35 years old or younger, who own or have owned a business in North Queensland for at least two years but no more than ten years. Someone who displays tenacity, business acumen, and an opened mind. Someone who also gives back to his/her community.

Young Employee Award – celebrating the contribution of our young employees

Do you know an achiever, 35 years old or younger, working for a local organisation? Someone who, for the past two years but no more than ten, has made a contribution to his/her sector? Someone who goes beyond what’s expected, without asking for praise? Someone committed to the local business community? Someone who also gives to his/her community? Shine a light on them.

Business Solutions Award – celebrating businesses that have reinvented themselves

North Queensland has lived through challenging years. Following an overall slowdown of the local economy, a softening of business confidence, and the devastating floods of 2019, most businesses in North Queensland had to ‘re-invent’ themselves. This Award is for businesses which, in the last two years, have changed in order to remain viable.

Business Community Award – celebrating good business citizenship

Every business, regardless of its size, has a role to play as a corporate citizen. This Award celebrates businesses which, in the past two years, are delivering or have delivered a project, program or activity to help improve our world. Project, program or activity, planned or in response to an event, can be about supporting the community; care for the environment; improved social outcomes; improved health and/or safety for others; or help with flood recovery.

Employee’s Choice Award – celebrating best practie employers

Do you work for a great employer? Or do you know one? An organisation supportive of its employees’ development and work/life balance? An organisation that shows genuine care for its employees? This Award is for them!
