The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) continue to provide support and assistance to North Queenslanders affected by the March 2019 monsoonal flood event.
They have implemented a range of support strategies to assist those who are located in identified affected postcodes. If your business was affected in the event but not located in a highly affected postcode, support is provided through the ATO when you phone 1800 806 218. You can also find support from your tax or BAS agent.
The flood disaster has resulted in large amounts of documentation being lost or destroyed. If you need help finding your businesses lost tax documentation, the ATO is providing assistance by helping retrieve your lost tax file number and ABN, reissuing income tax returns, statements or notices or by setting up a payment plan in the circumstance of financial difficulty.
