SUBJECT – Invitation to participate in an Adaptation Options Stakeholder Workshop
Townsville City Council, in partnership with the Queensland Government, is planning for coastal
change via the “Adapting to Coastal Change in Townsville” project.
This project has been established to develop a long-term strategy to help the city prepare for, and
manage, changes brought by storm tide, sea level rise and coastal erosion.
To support this project, a stakeholder workshop will be held to help Council develop adaptation options
and strategies for coastal changes in Townsville.
Council is pleased to invite you to nominate one representative of your organisation to participate in
the Adaptation Options Stakeholder Reference Group. Participation is voluntary and requires a
commitment to provide constructive feedback.
A workshop will be held in October 2019 (approximately 4 hours). It will provide an opportunity to learn
more about how Townsville City Council is planning for coastal change and discuss your ideas for the
