Hear what Michele has to say about our Meet the Candidates Breakfast

14 October, 2020, Posted By tvlchamber

Next week we will be hosting a ‘Meet the Candidates’ Breakfast, at The Ville Resort and Casino.

The event to be held on Tuesday 20 October, will be an excellent opportunity for the business community to meet all of the State Parliamentary Candidates from the seats of Townsville, Thuringowa, Mundingburra, and Hinchinbrook, ahead of the State Election.

Townsville Chamber of Commerce President Michele Falconieri highlighted the significance of the timing of the event.

“Our Meet The Candidates Breakfast will be the only opportunity for people to meet and hear from the candidates in person from the seats of Townsville, Thuringowa, Mundingburra, and Hinchinbrook, ahead of the State Election.

“The timing of our event is critical as pre-polling opens on Monday so attendees will be able to gain the insight they need to make an informed decision and before casting their vote ahead of election day on Saturday 31 October.

“With so many events held online since the pandemic, for many business operators, this may be the first time they can engage with the candidates in person, and there is nothing like hearing from someone live.

“As an apolitical organisation, the Townsville Chamber of Commerce has invited all candidates to attend and answer questions about issues that are important to businesses.

“We live in an age of information overload. Now more than ever, an informed vote is of vital importance. Hearing first hand from the candidates themselves live and in-person immediately before voting opens, is an opportunity that the Townsville Chamber of Commerce considers is vital to help business operators make informed decisions about who they would like representing Townsville and our surrounding regions as we start the rebuilding and recovery phase after the pandemic.” Mr Falconieri said

Townsville Bulletin Editor Craig Warhurst will be moderating the event.
