The Townsville Chamber is seeking Expressions of Interest from its members to present as part of its 2020 Business Matters event series.
Business Matters is a monthly information session about business improvement delivered by a Chamber member with local expertise.
Business Matters is a presentation on a subject of interest to members, professionals and small businesses. Topics are generally about business improvement addressing a timely issue and offering suggestions and solutions that can be applied immediately.
Presentations are opportunities to raise awareness about your organisation’s expertise and reputation. To that effect, the purpose of Business Matters is to inform and educate rather than sell.
Attendance varies. Experience has taught us that considered content, creative delivery, and timely topics attract a greater audience.
2019 topics included a presentation by the Townsville Hospital and Health Services on their Master Plan; the in’s and out’s of procurement with James Cook University; why your message matters and marketing your business from PVW Partners; lending solutions for small businesses; an update from the ATO; mentally healthy workplaces; how to spot a hacker; conflict management; and Single Touch Payroll.
Attendees are mostly individuals with operational responsibilities in purchasing roles, sales, human services, and management support.
The event is free for our members and their guests, and $10 for non-members to attend. It is highly recommended for the presenter to invite his / her own guests in order to increase attendance.
The presenter pays a fee to cover the administrative cost of the Chamber in coordinating the event.
The Chamber has been successfully delivering a similar event program for the past four years. To maintain the sustainability of our success, the Chamber will work with the selected presenter to develop the event promotion and presentation concept.
We are currently seeking a venue partner.
