Workplace Health and Safety Standard ISO 45001

1 October, 2019, Posted By Aon

Are you ready for the new Workplace Health and Safety Standard ISO 45001?

Around the world, one worker dies every five seconds – that’s 2.3 million deaths a year.
Globally, there are 317 million workplace incidents a year.

While the statistics in Australia are less dire, any opportunity to improve workplace health and safety is welcome.

The International Organisation for Standardisation’s (ISO) new workplace health and safety (WHS) standard, ISO 45001, establishes a new benchmark for enterprise safety. It is also the first truly global standard with important implications for businesses.

ISO 45001 was formally released in March. It replaces ISO 18001 and Australian Standards has indicated that it will gravitate toward adopting ISO 45001, replacing AS/NZ 48001. Aon is able to assist businesses with transitioning to the new standard.

At Aon, we look at Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) with a holistic approach, working with our clients and their business to mitigate WHS risks. We can help promote a safety culture from the top down, so businesses can meet their due diligence obligations and keep employees healthy and productive.

If you would like to learn more about Aon’s extensive WHS capabilities please contact Trudi Anderson at Aon Townsville via email trudi.anderson@aon.com or phone (07) 4759 8000.
