OUR CORPORATE PARTNERS

At the Chamber of Commerce, corporate partners play a significant role in our mission of driving connecting, advocating for and informing local businesses.

These partners provide invaluable support through their expertise, resources, and connections, enabling us to offer a wide range of programs and events to our members. By working together with these businesses, we are able to advocate for policies that promote a healthy business environment and foster business growth.

Corporate partners also contribute to the overall success of the chamber by providing valuable insights and participating in networking events, which help our members build strong relationships and access new opportunities. Their involvement is crucial to our success in creating a thriving business community.

James Cook University

For over 50 years, James Cook University has worked to protect the health of our planet, people and communities through partnership programs in research, innovation, and experiential learning.

Designed in conjunction with industry professionals, the courses offered by the College of Business, Law and Governance (CBLG) instil future leaders with life-long, practical skills which will have continued relevance through this age of disruption. Leading-edge subjects reflect global industry needs and challenges including the blue economy, sustainable practice, adaptability, crisis management, creativity and innovation.

Over the next three years CBLG will continue to strengthen its industry engagement and career focus. With multinational campuses, staff and students, the College aspires to be the Business and Law School for the Asia Pacific region and beyond.

The opportunity for our students to intern at local organisations and take part in the Mentorship Program run with the Townsville Chamber of Commerce, are just two of the local initiatives to ensure our students are equipped for and are relevant in workforce upon graduation – because experience has no substitute.

This year has seen our College also place priority on our Post Graduate Courses and in 2022 we will be launching our Graduate Certificate of Project Management and our reinvigorated Master of Business Administration (MBA). We will be offering these courses in our City campus as well as online to provide flexibility for people in the workforce to upskill and expand their potential.

We are also exploring opportunities to provide programs in other areas required by business and the professions such as Fintech, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Leadership and Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
